birthday excitement

Just wanted to write a quick recap of my birthday. It started with some cards from kids at my school. Many lovely things were said, including "you are my hero", "may all your dreams come true", "happy sweet 31" and... a picture of me skiing into the jaws of an alligator with the words "open wide". that made the day special for sure.

then I got a day off work.

then I left for a weekend at the beach with friends. my card from tabs said "happy birthday to my best friend".. opening to "just kidding. you're like my 3rd best friend" that made me laugh. You know the people who always make you laugh, who you always have a good time with, no matter what's going on in life? That was who i spent my weekend with.. and don't think we're old after looking at these pictures. we went to this little town called oysterville, that was so charming and for some reason felt like the east coast to us. probably because oregon coast towns, besides the ocean which is amazing, are usually just full of cheesy shops and tourists on rented bikes that make anyone look ridiculous. It's the truth.

On saturday we met up with Trina and Seth in Astoria, which is quickly becoming my favorite beach town! and I hung out with my family on Sunday. It was a good birthday.
